It's under the bed.

I'm typing this on my phone, so please forgive any spelling errors. I called 911. They say they're sending someone, but I don't think they'll get here in time.
It's been minutes now. No way it's been as long as I think it has, because it's felt like hours. More than seconds, though. I can see the clock on my cell phone.
It all happened quite suddenly. I sat down on the bed, meaning to swing my legs under the covers like I had thousands of times. First I saw the blood, what looked like most of my cat's skin smeared into the tile in the bathroom. Then the hand was on my ankle before I could scream.
Every time I move, even a little, it gets tighter. I can feel it breaking my ankle now. Creaking and snapping. It's starting to pull me under.
